What I liked

I liked how efficient it all went. It was a great process. I have never gone through a process like this before. I had to go to HR to get some things finalized and finish some surveys. It was great!

What I wish was different

Only thing that I wish was different about the process was the so many easy questions. It was simple and quick which was a great plus.

Advice

One piece of advice is that do not stop trying on handshake and do not stop trying on applying to jobs. There will always be opportunities you just have to find them and find them at the right time.

What I liked

I liked the experience of working in Ablah Library on Wichita State campus. I love working in and being in libraries, so this job was perfect for me. At the time, my disability prevented me from performing certain tasks, but the staff were understanding and flexible with my needs and abilities.

What I wish was different

I wish the pay had been higher for the amount of work, the type of work, and the environment I was in. I love working in libraries, but Ablah Library's A/C system was not functioning the way that it should (during the summer, no less). The pay was below the bare minimum, and had I been paid 15.00/hour, I would still be working there happily!

Advice

I would say to not accept this as a permanent position, especially if you are a student on campus. Yes, it is a flexible work environment, and if you enjoy library work (like me) it will be very fun! But it does not pay a livable wage, and there are no benefits that you can receive because of the extremely low hourly wage.
