Student Graphic Design and Marketing Media Assistant

Under general supervision, this student position performs duties related to graphic design and marketing media management for the purpose of promoting services and programs of Health, Outreach, Prevention, and Education (HOPE) Services, Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS), SWC initiatives, mental health and wellness, and preventative efforts on campus and in the community. Duties include, but are not limited to, design of advertisements, posters, and brochures; helping with the creation of presentations and pitch decks; and creation of wellness promotion content for various outlets among other design duties. The student will possess knowledge and experience with Adobe In Design, Adobe Illustrator, and Adobe Photoshop, and ability to utilize brand standards for consistent marketing efforts. The student will demonstrate a strong interest and commitment to general wellness, mental health and prevention efforts on campus. Preferred candidates will also have experience with the creation of digital images and videos, as well as knowledge and skill using video and photography equipment.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Creates digital media marketing for health and wellness on campus and in the community.
    • Collaborates with HOPE, CAPS, and HOPE Services Advisory Board member to design and develop digital images, posters, brochures, advertisements, and public service announcements, promoting trainings/events, healthy behaviors, social norms, mental health resources, and other informational marketing as needed. 
    • Collaborates with community partners on Suspenders4Hope #WeSupportU initiatives designing and developing digital images, posters, brochures, advertisements, and public service announcements, promoting trainings/events, healthy behaviors, social norms, mental health resources, and other informational marketing as needed. 
    • Reviews drafts of proposed materials with appropriate staff and makes revisions as needed. Obtains approval for finalization. 
    • Works with other staff to prepare content for social media and other marketing outlets.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Must have knowledge of PC computers, In Design, Illustrator, and PhotoShop software and programs, and be able to create materials quickly utilizing established brand standards.

  • Must be able to work on teams with others, as well as be able to work independently in an effective and timely manner. 

Physical demands: 

Requires sustained use of color vision, fingering/dexterity, seeing, sitting, standing, talking, typing, and hearing. Requires walking, handling, holding, stooping, bending, writing and daily use of computer keyboard and mouse.

Job Details

  • Salary will be $12.00 per hour at 15 hours per week.
  • Work schedule will be from May 2024 to May 2025 with exact dates to be determined by supervisor and student. Work location is the Student Wellness Center. 
  • Majority of duties will be accomplished between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. on a schedule as determined by employee and supervisor and include at least 2/3 of the hours to be worked at the Student Wellness Center in-person. 
  • This position reports to the Wellness Program and Outreach Manager.
