Work-Study Social Media and Graphic Design Assistant

Wichita State Connect is seeking a diligent and creative Part-Time Work-Study Student to support the Executive Administrator in maintaining and enhancing our social media presence, as well as assisting with graphic design tasks and website upkeep. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, a flair for graphic design, and a passion for promoting the mission of Wichita State Connect.

 Key Responsibilities:

Social Media Management:

Develop engaging content for various social media platforms (e.g., Facebook, Twitter, Instagram) that aligns with the mission and values of Wichita State Connect.

Schedule and publish social media posts, ensuring consistent and timely updates.

Monitor social media channels for engagement and respond to comments or inquiries in a professional manner.

Analyze social media metrics to track performance and identify areas for improvement.

 

Graphic Design:

Create eye-catching graphics, illustrations, and visual assets for use on social media, flyers, reports, and other promotional materials.

Design marketing materials that effectively communicate the mission and initiatives of Wichita State Connect.

Ensure all graphic designs adhere to branding guidelines and maintain a cohesive visual identity.

 

Website Maintenance:

Assist in updating and maintaining the Wichita State Connect website with relevant content, announcements, and resources.

Collaborate with team members to ensure website information is accurate, up-to-date, and user-friendly.

Implement SEO best practices to optimize website visibility and search engine rankings.

 

Content Organization:

Organize and archive photos, graphics, and other digital assets for future use in marketing campaigns and promotional materials.

Maintain an organized file system to facilitate easy access to media assets and ensure consistency across projects.

 

Qualifications:

Currently enrolled as a student at Wichita State University and eligible for work-study program.

Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

Proficiency in graphic design software such as Adobe Creative Suite (e.g., Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign).

Experience managing social media accounts for organizations or personal projects.

Familiarity with social media analytics tools and techniques.

Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills.

Knowledge of web design principles and content management systems (e.g., WordPress) is a plus.

 

Schedule and Compensation:

Part-time position, approximately 3

15 hours per week.

Flexible schedule to accommodate student's academic commitments.

Hourly wage in accordance with work-study program guidelines.
