NIAR ATLAS Student Assistant

NIAR ATLAS (Advanced Technologies Lab for Aerospace Systems) is seeking students interested in assisting with aerospace manufacturing research. Students working in this position will perform tasks that are a mix of software-based design and hands-on work. This position will be located at ATLAS' South Oliver location.

Responsibilities:
- CAD geometry design and cleanup for robot simulation and numerical analysis.
- Design and simulation of layups with composite patches.
- Software-aided robot programming for manufacturing.
- Performing safety runs and manufacturing runs on robot.
- Supporting research and produce documentation of activities and outcomes.
- Moving and lifting tools and large items.
- Troubleshooting components in cell.
- Maintaining a clean and safe work environment.

Requirements:
- Experience in CATIA v5/v6 is highly preferred.
- Pursuing a degree in Aerospace or Mechanical engineering.
- Interest in aerospace manufacturing processes.
- Critical thinking and problem solving.
- Reliable and proactive.
- Ability to work a minimum of 20hrs per week during the semester.
- Ability to lift and carry 50lbs.
- Personal transportation is required
