NIAR HPC Student Tech

This position requires access to EAR or ITAR controlled technologies. Applicants are required to be eligible for employment under U.S. export control laws and must meet the requirement of being a “U.S. Citizen”. Responsibilities include the administration, integration and maintenance of parallel high performance computing clusters, as well as other systems and peripherals.

Provides systems support for advanced research computing environment, to include the installation, integration and management of high-performance computer systems, clusters, operating systems, peripherals, and system interfaces; monitors system usage; ensures that the high-performance computing complex is operating at optimal performance and reliability levels.

Works in collaboration with lab staff to manage the hardware and systems software infrastructure to provide an effective, reliable, high performance, scalable computing environment.

In the position of HPC Data Center Student Technician you will be a team member of a High Performance Computing (HPC) Operations team supporting the Technical Computing environment.

Intermediate knowledge of the Linux Operating system, CentOS and Red Hat.
Available for weekend and after hours work as needed.
Must be able to lift and move 50lbs.
Must have reliable transportation.
