Performance/Event Student Assistant (Performance Facilities)
Performance Facilities is a support division of the College of Fine Arts (CFA) and is responsible for management and operation of performance venues with the college for all events & performances occurring in Miller Concert Hall, Wiedemann Recital Hall, and Wilner Auditorium. The department also provides technical support for the Campus Activities Center Theater, Lowe Auditorium (Metropolitan Complex), as well as commencement ceremonies and other university events both on and off the main WSU campus. A majority of events occur during the academic fall and spring semesters, with additional events throughout the times between academic semesters.
Student employee work positions include: Stage Operations (Deck Managers & Deckhand), Front of House (House Manger & Ushers), Technical Operations (Sound, Lighting, & Video Technicians), Video & Audio Production (Video/Audio Streaming or Archive), and Patron Services (Fine Arts Box Office). Previous experience is not a requirement for employment consideration, but previous related work experience in a related field or general performing arts experience is beneficial. On-the-job training is provided for all available student employee positions.
All student positions within the department require current enrollment as a student at WSU. Student positions have no guarantee for the total number of work hours per week and are not available as a fixed weekly schedule. Maximum potential weekly work hour totals are governed by the university as set forth in WSU Policies and Procedures guidelines.
